It doesn't matter to me if it's an English language movie or another language, the subtitle is a constant for me in them. The instructor was deaf and for an assignment we had to be deaf for a day. I turned on subtitles for the first time watching a show and have never looked back. I always have the subtitles on. I realized how much I had missed in the dialogue when I didn't use them. I can follow the storyline better when I see the words, not just hear them. Especially for other English speaking shows from the UK that have accents. I taught myself Sign Language many years ago & it was fun to learn.
